picasa.gifHas anyone spent ours of labeling, captioning, editing your favorite photos in Picasa only to discover that all this information is buried so deeply within Picasa, that there is no (easy) way to copy it over to another computer?

Picasa is great, but I can’t believe I am the only one who likes to have a backup set of my photo albums on another computer … all the “value added” information in Picasa is lost.

Can’t wait for Release 3.0!!!

Update:
All Picasa database, label .. etc info is stored in the C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Picasa2 directory. As long as both PC’s have the same directory / windows user structure and both are XP, copying the directory will save all the Picasa metada to the new PC.

Update 2 (12/01):
See my other post on how to keep your Picasa albums in sync on multiple PC’s.

Thanks a lot, I moved all my images from one computer to another and was very dissapointed that my labels did not move there to. Why is the label information not placed in the picasa.ini file which is placed in each image folder. This file contains information about all the editering that has been done with the images, so why not place the label information in that file to ??

To my luck I was able to recover the information from the old computer, so again thanks a lot.
