Open Source definitely offers unfettered innovation. Currently, open source is the only thing in the path of Microsofts browser/PC complete domination. That speak volumes about the raw power of open source.

Hi Shreyas,

Thanks. What's wrong with the image verification though? There IS a lot of spam that I have to remove, even after spam filtering. Akismet works with Wordpress, but this blog is hosted on Blogware, a different platform.

As for Open Source, I actually agree with you, and if you read Micahel's posts, you'll see that he does, too - it was just a provocative title line, responding to some articles.

Thanks for reading!

Wow, Zoli, great blog. There's lot to see around your blog and inside it. I just subscribed to it. But according to me, any blog with Image Verification seriously is not the one to comment. If you are worried about Bots, try Akismet. I think this is the reason why you don't get too much comments. I'd be really happy and so would a lot of readers if you removed this.

No, open source DOES not kill innovation. It breeds it. The concept need not be completely new. Infact even a good extension to firefox can be innovative. Now, isn't that due to open source??
