New Trackback Spam Tactics?

So new, I don’t even understand it. Here’s a trackback I received to one of my posts several months ago:

As you may have noticed, the URL points to www.yahoo.com.  There is no other hidden url or any other code – so what’t the point?  Who benefits from this?

    While we’re having this conversation (possibly related, & possibly not…) I have deleted at least 4 comments off my blog in the past month that were on my most recent post, and were links to stories on the Fox News website…. The full text of the link, hyperlinked and clickable, with no additional content, no context, and no relation to my post. Again… who benefits?
