I've been writing on what you can do with wikis in a corporate setting lately, and I am progressively coming to think that the sole limit is a company's imagination. It's amazing what collaborative writing adds to basic pages for an internal use ! I'll keep going on the topic, for there is so much to be said about it ...

I've been working with XWiki (www.xwiki.com) lately and found it to be effective, for their free hosting solution is quite complete.

I would recommend TeamWork Live for an inexpensive wiki application with team collaboration and project management features built in:

http://www.teamworklive.com/

The application is easy to use and there's virtually no setup.

We recommend both JotSpot and SocialText, but for low cost or personal stuff we started to use Wikispaces
