I guess you're trying to support your point, since you did sign your comment, but I really don't know if you're Ann or Jeff (?).

Here's a somewhat longer post I'd like to refer to: in that case an anonymous poster created an attack blog with a single purpose of defaming a company (likely competitor?). He was posing an expert, threw in accusations and personal attacks yet was spineless enough to remain nameless. No wonder the blog disappeared since then.

I do agree with you that blogs should allow comments.

"There really should be no room for anonymity in the Blogosphere"

Wait, why? Because some people want to gain personal fame from the Blogosphere? It shouldn't matter who is making a point, the point should stand on its own - is it valid or not. It doesn't matter who these people are nor whether they say bad things or good things about people, products, processes, culture or society.

Actually, I think we'd be better off if anonymity was required in the blogosphere - then people wouldn't have to tolerate certain A list bloggers, just because they are A list bloggers - ideas and opinions might be judged more fairly and there wouldn't be hero worship.

But I do think that any blogs that don't allow comments should be boycotted. If they want to sling arrows, they should be man enough to take them, too.
