Zoli,
there is a privacy question here, sure, but the another question is one of copyright.

With the google license it seems so invasive as to suggestthat a novel written on google could be used by Google to "such Content on Google services for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting Google services…"

I won't be writing my best seller on Google docs..!-)

I do think they respect the privacy choices. In fact that's the point I am trying to make: the legal docs are inaccurate, I think they respect you privacy more than those terms would allow them.

I would not worry about Google re-using, re-publishing your material - but *of course* it will be dissected, analyzed for targeted advertising purposes...

Very interesting findings. I've only used Google Documents a bit, and common sense tells me not to put any sensitive information on there, but I didn't realize that Google more of less lays claims to anything you type. Do they do that to any photos I upload to Picasa as well? I can understand if I make documents 'public', or make my Picasa albums 'public', I'm surrendering my data to the web, but if I choose to make them unlisted and private, I'd appreciate if Google gave us a true privacy policy that respects our PRIVACY.

Great blog, by the way. Found it by looking up Gmail importing tricks.
