		<description>Apologies for picking one comment out of context, but to my mind pivot tables are one of the handful of defining features of Microsoft Excel.  

An exaggeration of course, but pivot tables make it a data analysis tool rather than just a (very efficient, rapid, robust ..) scratch pad and calculator</description>
