Lame Executive Search "Matches"

Long ago I’ve established a profile on BlueSteps.com.  It’s dormant, I did not bother to go back and de-activate it, the occasional email does not bother me.  This morning I am ROFLMAO having received the following “match against my profile”:

Function:  Finance and Accounting/CFO
Industry:  Hospitals
Region:  Augusta, GA, Georgia, United States
Salary:  $100,000 – $150,000

There’s not a single bit in this search that would match my profile.  This is simply pathetic.

  1. You wear glasses – so do most accountants You are trim – important for a hospital job. You blog with an accountant – Dennis. You have a better accent than a Yankee – important in Georgia.

How could you question the profiling? I don;t think a TSA professional could have done better at airport -)

  2. This deserve a double ROFLMAO ROFLMAO 🙂

  3. Talk about TSA and profiling: back in my early days with SAP I once was refused a visa to Switzerland (yes, this was the post-iron-curtain-visa-still-required time). Apparently I had some failry serious criminal charges against me in Switzerland.

Thank God the “bad” guy with an identical name was born in 1903, and it was relatively easy to convince the consular worker that it could not possibly be me:-) Now, I don’t even want to think of what it would take to convince TSA of the same ….

  4. over a drink I can tell you about my experiences as I traveled the world with PwC – and those of some collagues…

  5. BTW Senator Ted Kennedy got on some watch list (probably IRA related) and had to convince YSA to get him off…

  6. As far as I can tell, the more divorced you are from the finance function, the more qualified you are for a CFO position.
