Trapped in Akismet’s Blacklist

I am unable to comment on WordPress-powered blogs.  It took me a while to figure it out – actually credit goes to Mike Arrington who dug up my buried comments from TechCrunch’s spam queue.   It appears that the word “zoliblog” as part of any email is blacklisted by Akismet.

I left a note using Akismet’s contact form six days ago, to no avail – so if anyone reading this has the power to help, thanks a lot in advance!

Update (12/31):  I few weeks later I am out of prison 🙂

  1. How do the good guys like yourself get blacklisted and I’m still getting 20-30 spam comments a day? Seems like reverse logic to me. Good luck!

  2. Akismet has been a life saver for me, over 11,000 spam posts blocked, but it worries me that there isn’t some sort of appeals process for legitimate people who just want to post comments!

    . . . You are a person right?

  3. Last I checked I was a person 🙂 There is a feedback form on Akismet, but I am not too optimistic now, yesterday I read about a blogger “trapped” for a month.

The spam catcher on my own blog is not as sophisticated as Akismet, and I occasionally kill legitim posts – then it’s a nightmare to manually find and unblock them:-(

  4. I just found a comment by you in my Akismet Spam list. Glad I caught it, hopefully they can get this fix soon.

  5. Hi Jevon, thanks, you may want to delete 2 of my 3 comments – I was trying to get through by changing email .. website ..etc, but they really are redundant ….
